«Attack on Titan» (OT: Shingeki no Kyojin) is the adaptation of a manga and the anime series of the same name. Hardly any other manga and anime series has caused as much hype as this one in recent years. While we in German-speaking countries are still waiting (and waiting, and waiting, and...) for an official release of the anime series, the Japanese have a live-action adaptation in the starting blocks, which is scheduled to start in (Japanese) cinemas in August 2015. Here's the trailer with subtitles and I'm completely taken with the look and I think the Colossal Titan in particular is incredibly well done. If you look at the first pictures, the film adaptation seems no less willing to depict violence than its cartoon model.
The plot of Attack on Titan revolves around the young Eren Jäger and his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackermann, who, together with the rest of humanity, live in cities that seem to have no reason through huge walls before the attacks of the so-called titans, gigantic humanoid beings devour, are protected. But one day the titans break through the first wall and the people are pushed back further. But people try to fight back with the help of Eren Jäger, who can turn into a titan.
