The Judas ear (Auricularia auricula-judae) is a parasite on living trees or feeds on already dead wood. Judas ears grow on numerous tree species, such as birch, elm, walnut, mango, kapok and elder trees - the latter circumstance was also the reason for the name of the "Judas ear", since according to legend Judas is said to have hanged himself on such a tree, are rare they can also be found on conifers such as spruces. You can find the Judas ear in suitable places almost all year round, since they are frost-resistant, they can be dug up under the snow even in the depths of winter.

It should be clear that running dravenstales.ch takes a lot of time and costs. To cover costs and maybe a free drink or two, I could plaster the whole place with advertising. But I like my readers, which is why I want to offer them a (largely) ad-free reading experience. If you like what's going on and/or what's going on on this website, then it would be nice if you somehow shared the fun here would support, Thank you!
