The absolutely great series "Ash vs. Evil Dead" will soon have competition from a demon-hunting sheriff! On November 2, the US broadcaster IFC will start the series "Stan Against Evil", in which John C. McGinley (known as Dr. Cox from "Scrubs") slips into the role of an aged sheriff who has been fired due to an incident . However, when he realizes that his beloved small town is being haunted by almost exactly 172 demons, he takes up the fight without being asked. But he is not alone. Together with other officials, he makes it his mission to save every single resident of the city from certain death. After the pilot episode, interested viewers can look forward to seven more episodes that will round off the first season. And I'll say it again, the whole thing looks a lot like "Ash vs. Evil Dead". Even the writing at the end looks like it and everything before it sort of does too. The main character also acts like Ash, only with even less drive. But you know what? It's actually not all that bad, it still looks very, very nice and funny. Because we all know: Learning from Ash means learning to win. IFC is also optimistic that replenishment is already being worked on. So clear the stage for Stan and his glorious war against pure evil.
It is difficult not to be overcome by a surge of anger when thinking about war. The horrible feeling you get is that war solves nothing and that winning a war is just as disastrous as losing it.
