From February 18, the fourth season runs with a total of twenty episodes, which are to be broadcast in two separate phases similar to “The Walking Dead” within this year. The action of the new season begins at the point where the last stopped. There the Vikings won the battle in Paris, but Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) suffered severe injuries. His critical condition particularly alarms his wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and his eldest son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), who are determined to keep him at the head of power. His brother Rollo (Clive Standen), with whom he is known not to have the best relationship anyway, stayed in France and thus betrayed his Viking heritage. Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) meanwhile has to face the consequences of his brutal behavior towards the Christian priest Athelstan (George Blagden).
