«Fear The Walking Dead» Season 2 Preview – Promo and Sneak Peek

Friends, have you watched the first season of the prequel series «Fear The Walking Dead», which only consisted of 6 episodes? Here the outbreak of the plague that turns harmless people into bloodthirsty biters was illuminated. It will be some time before we can see season 2 of "Fear The Walking Dead" in April. To shorten the waiting time until the start, AMC has released the first teasers and we learn a little more about Cliff Curtis' expectations for his role as the "perpetual optimist" Travis and two new additions to the cast.

The spin-off series of «The Walking Dead» tells the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse through the eyes of the families around Madison Clark and Travis Manawa. In the second season, the question of how far you stand back for other people in order to save your own life should be the focus. In the second season of the post-apocalyptic family drama, the survivors will take refuge on the ship Abigail, seeking safety on water for the first time in the history of The Walking Dead universe. A big leap in time between the two seasons of "Fear The Walking Dead" is not to be expected, because the protagonists have a lot to deal with after the motley crew had to accept a few losses at the end of the first season. Travis, played by Cliff Curtis, will not have it easy: in the season one finale, he shot his ex-wife Liza after she was bitten by one of the infected. In an interview, the 47-year-old actor explained a little more about the difficult situation Travis is now in.

Cliff Curtis told MTV: "He's definitely changed. You can't go through something like this without not changing afterwards. But Travis is a lot stronger than you'd expect. He's one of those men... He's not really macho, especially compared to the other men on the show. He was macho with all those soldiers who were all trying to be alpha males. And then there's Salazar, and then there's the intriguing character of Strand, and even his girlfriend, who somehow also adapts to this new situation much more quickly - to act first, then consider the consequences. That's the antithesis he's in right now." Also, Travis truly believes in the principles of humanity. “He is really understood totally as an optimist and an idealist. He may have been broken, but I think he's more resilient than we think. He sees where he's going now and decides who he needs to be to get by in this new world."

Not only has Travis changed, his relationship with Madison isn't what it used to be either. They went through some lows together and it wasn't always easy for the two of them. "What's funny, and weirdly a glimmer of hope, is that while they were madly in love at the start of Season 1, they just got further and further apart. Then, at the last moment, at the end of the first season, they get closer again. So there is still hope that their relationship will grow even stronger through this hardship and that they will focus on building their family and figuring out what it takes for the family to survive." Since the beginning of December 2015, the cast of "Fear The Walking Dead" has been in Mexico, where the filming of the upcoming second season is underway in the famous Baja Studios. The showrunners of FTWD already announced that escaping to the water is not necessarily a promising solution in the context of the zombie apocalypse. Numerous dangers will continue to await the survivors, starting with the usual suspects, the walkers, to other survivors who can quickly turn the sweet life on the luxury yacht into a nightmare. No information has yet been released as to who these "pirates" will be, but two new supporting cast members have been announced for Season 2, who may already be providing initial clues as to their identities. Daniel Zovatto (24) is a Costa Rican-born New Yorker by choice and some of you might already have seen the horror film «It Follows» be known. Unfortunately, little is known about his role other than the fact that he will be playing a "recurring role," meaning his performance may only span a few episodes.

Another new addition to the cast of «Fear The Walking Dead» is Arturo Del Puerto. The Spanish actor can already look back on an impressive filmography, whereby you might know him from «Ride Along 2: Next Level Miami», «Agent X», «Navy CIS», «The Lottery» or «Chicago PD». Referring to his role, also described as "recurring," Deadline said, "He will play Carlos, a rather reserved guy who has a spiritual understanding of the world." The relationship between these two gentlemen and our survivors is unfortunately not yet clear from this meager information, but we can assume that they will make their acquaintance during their stay on the Abigail.

«Fear The Walking Dead» Season 2 starts on Sunday April 10, 2016 in the US&A on AMC and is also available the following day on Amazon Prime Instant Video as usual. The second season should consist of 2 episodes and fill the gap between the sixth and seventh seasons of "The Walking Dead", so far the seasons of the main series ran from October to March of the following year. To kickstart Season 15 and fill the summer slump, «Fear The Walking Dead» Season 7 follows immediately after the main series finale.
