It has long been known that the zombie series "The Walking Dead" is getting a spin-off. So far, the project has had the working title “Cobalt”. Recently, the official title of Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic template, was announced on Twitter:
IT'S OFFICIAL! The walking dead companion show on AMC is called FEAR THE WALKING DEAD! Expect more news very soon! #FearTheWalkingDead
- Robert Kirkman (@RobertKirkman) March 27, 2015
The series spin-off is scheduled to start this summer. According to the latest information, the series is a prequel, like TVLine reported. The series will take place in Los Angeles, California and tell the origin of the later zombie apocalypse. The focus is on a teacher who wants to ensure the survival of his family. As the story progresses, however, the series will catch up with the events of "The Walking Dead". The series spin-off is already in production. The broadcaster AMC seems to have high hopes for "Fear the Walking Dead": Two full seasons have been commissioned and should always be broadcast during the time when the main series is paused to provide fans with more zombie supplies. Actor Cliff Curtis will star in the prequel series. In an interview with "Entertainment Weekly" a few weeks ago, Kirkman explained that the spin-off should be "very different" and also visually different from the main series.
The first trailer for the new spin-off series aired in the US&A after the 90-minute season finale of The Walking Dead. Here is the first trailer for you and whether we can see the series as soon as TWD is in the stars. Maybe we'll find out on Fox tonight...
